We all find ourselves in heartbreak reaching out to our friends for comfort. Girls seem to be taken for granted for who they are and how they love. Girls find theirselves moving to the next boy in just hours from the previous heartbreak. Guys, that have a sweet heart are taken for granted time after time and not even given a chance. We always lean to find a filling for our heart as it seems to be empty. But really during this time we should lean on our Jesus to pull us through a heartbreak, the passing of a love one, and simply just a bad day. Jesus, He love us unconditionally. The story of Jesus is so incredible and during this time of year we hear His story once more. My daddy always told me that Christmas miracles were always in the hand of the beholder. So, grab a cup a coffee and a blanket and stay awhile as I share my Christmas miracle.
The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year, right? Usually, I would be jumping for joy the week of thanksgiving. But my mood was kind of squashed. I woke up to a call at 2:00 in the morning on November 18, 2017 to my dad calling me. My parents had gone over to the hunting club and my dad was going to hunt the next morning. My parents arrived at home with an unusual face, my mom sat me down and told me my nanny had taken the turn for the worse and wasn’t going to be coming home this time. My knees began to buckle and I fell to my knees with my eyes filled with tears. As we arrived at the hospital my heart only broke more when I saw her laying in a hospital bed with so many things hooked up to her. The next morning, I stayed there all day my dad got her to talk some and then suddenly she became mute not a word. My dad had told me that we probably had the last conversation with her. Later that day, the doctor told us there was nothing more they could do for her to make her comfortable that she would be going to be with the Lord soon. I stayed there at her bedside for hours talking to her and singing to her. So, I decided to start praying at the chapel for God’s will for my nanny during those days. Praying was the only sense of peace I could find. So, for the rest of the day we listened to her favorite songs at her bedside. Mom told me that I could stay with her or I could come home with her and my dad which was her son. I decided to be with my daddy during this time.
The next morning, my mom got a call from my aunt which was rare cause we weren’t close to my dad’s family at all. A call that changed our whole perspective. My aunt had walked into the hospital room to sit with nanny. But nanny surprised us once again with a good morning after she had been in a coma for awhile. This was such a shock to everyone even the doctors. The only explanation is God. He tells us not be afraid 365 times in the bible and He was in total control of this situation. As a couple weeks passed she got moved to her new assisted living called Kirkwood. The nurses at Kirkwood have been working with her daily with walking, talking, and helping her memory. My nanny has a hereditary disease called Dementia. So, almost a month ago the doctors declared her death and said she had a very small chance of recovering. This story just goes to show the only He is only in control. This Christmas she was not fully aware of her surroundings or who we were but she was enjoying Christmas when no one thought she would be here with us. My nanny had a much greater purpose and her story is not over yet. I lived to see a Christmas miracle, I could not be more thankful for what HE has done for my grandmother. There is one verse and one song that got me through this rough time and continues to pull me through. Isaiah 43:2 “When I pass through deep waters, I will be with you.” The song is Open Heavens by Hillsong. I hope you guys have enjoyed your Christmas!
Love Always,
